This year we are honored to be a part of the annual Kips Bay Show House. The Kips Bay Show House raises funds for children in New York City through the Kips Bay Boys and Girls Club by partnering with designers and artists on a Show House. For this year’s event, running through June 14, we installed a new work by David Drebin.
We worked with our colleague Robert Schwartz, founder of St. Charles of NY, on this beautiful installation. St. Charles of NY specializes in high end kitchen design, and we were lucky to have him as our collaborator.
Drebin’s work combines ‘voyeuristic and psychological viewpoints’ to offer ‘dramatic insight into emotions and experiences.’ He has worked with many celebrities such as Charlize Theron as well as with major world-wide publications such as Elle and GQ. We decided to showcase Drebin in a highly design-oriented setting, choosing to use one of his newer photographs of a woman looking out of the (then) newly built Standard Hotel. We like the balance between Drebin’s intriguing imagery and Schwartz’s crisp design sensibility. Drebin is one of the most important artists we believe in, collect, and sell at HK Photographs.
Collaborating with interior designers and architects is a main part of our business which we love. Previously, we have worked with renowned designers such as Campion Platt, Robert Stilin and many others.
We hope you can see the Show House, and of course hope even more that you come visit us in our new gallery space in Chelsea to look at more great images by Drebin and other important photographers. We have a huge on-site inventory of both affordable and investment pieces and would be happy to talk to you about starting or continuing your collection.
